How To Deliver The Perfect Pitch

Nowhere is this more crucial than for individuals pitching an idea whose success often depends less on what is said, than on how it is said. Every pitch is essentially an audition for leadership.

Why it matters: Every single idea starts with a pitch, and if you want your ideas to change lives, you need to make sure that they are heard. Lots of people don’t properly prepare for big moments, waste time by creating presentations that go on for too long and don’t produce the intended action.

“The art of communication is the language of leadership.” – James Hughes

The big picture: It’s not about the story that you want to tell, the story is only relevant if it connects with your audience and your objective.

Be simple, and clear. It’s about what you take out of the pitch, not what you put in. If you focus on the essence of the story, you should be able to shrink the presentation and pitch your idea in 3,5 or 7 minutes.

Be professional. Conscious decision about what you will say and do from the first second to the last When you walk into the room you want a sentence you are going to say; ie., this is who I am, this is what I do, this is what we are going to cover and take them straight into the story. And you want you want to finish with a big bang; ie., this who we are, and this is what we want you do, and.

Be certain. Stand by every single word in your pitch, and say it like you mean it because you mean it. It’s all about the audience having confidence in you.
